Russian Aircraft Corporation «ÌiG» at Paris Air Show, Le Bourget - 2007Russian Aircraft Corporation (RAC) “MiG” is delighted to present at Paris Air Show held at Le Bourget 2007 (18-24 June) its most advanced products, showcasing the company’s outstanding achievements.
Taking part in the flying display is the MiG-29M OVT, this is an experimental combat aircraft with super-maneuverability allowing it to demonstrate a unique aerobatics that no other combat aircraft in the world can perform.
The RAC “MiG” exhibit at Aero India will include a mock-up of the MiG-29K ship borne fighter; full details and information will be available on the progress of the program. The Indian Navy has ordered the MiG-29K/KUBs under the contract signed in 2004. In January 2007 these aircraft started scheduled flight tests.
The ÌiG-29Ê/ÊUB became the core of the new unificated combat aircraft family that also includes the front-line ÌiG-29Ì/Ì2 and ÌiG-35 fighters. These fighters sport the new-generation onboard systems, e.g. AESA radars.
RAC “MiG” also presents the information on the upgrade of the MiG-29s, operated by 29 countries worldwide. RAC “MiG” has recently introduced a package of proposals aimed at improving the MiG-29s’ combat efficiency and operational performance. The three base retrofit versions are: the ÌiG-29SD, MiG-29SÌ and ÌiG-29SÌÒ that are long-awaited by the customers in different countries.
Other well-known products from RAC “MiG” include the MiG-AT new-generation combat training aircraft, the unique MiG-31E fighter aircraft and a series of top-of-the-range aircraft simulators.
Trade and Professional visitors to Paris Air Show are welcome to take part in a unique competition to name two of the yet unnamed aerobatic maneuvers performed by the MiG-29M OVT. The winner will receive a one week trip to Russia including a flight in a twin-stick MiG fighter. The winners of the two previous competitions, held at Farnborough-2006 and AERO INDIA-2007, Tim Robinson of Aerospace International and Indian AF pilot Wg Cdr Sharad Pasricha, had already enjoyed Moscow sights and experienced the breathtaking MiGs’ super maneuverability. The fourth competition shall be announced at the MAKS airshow held in Zhukovskiy near Moscow within 21-26 August 2007.MiG Corp. press release
